PHILIPPINES - MEDALS OF THE JAPANESE OCCUPATION 1942 - 1945
During the Japanese occupation of the Philippines monetary issues were restricted to paper money. No metallic coins were issued either by the Japanese or the Filipinos. The only other item of numismatic importance was a group of interesting commemorative medals and one decoration struck in either silver or bronze. Little has been written about these medals because little is know. They are very seldom available. All are considered to be quite scarce.
